Nancy Ajram: Smart & Creative!
You don’t have to be vulgar nasty or show your skin to be successful! This is not just a statement but a fact. Nancy Ajram’s kids’ video clip “Shakbat Shakhabet” is a living example of how an artist can be entertaining, insightful and respectful at their art. This time, I am not planning on mentioning or comparing Haifa Wehbi or other artists to Nancy Ajram, I won’t waste this web space on their filth and repulsive manners.
Going back to Nancy, we can’t really ignore or forget what made Nancy Ajram famous in the first place “Akhasmak Aah”. Back then, Nancy made a revolution with that video clip and she was called seductive. Does this remind you of today? Does it remind you of video clips made by Models Group and other artists? It looks like every year we lower our cultural sensitivity bar and we allow offensive material through to our living rooms. If we compare Nancy Ajram’s Akhasmak Aah to any video today we will find that Akhasmak Aah is very conservative.
I predict that we will have Playboy Arabia very soon to cater our Middle Eastern market. I think it’s a step in the right direction if you ask me. If you ask me it’s inevitable, I don’t want to insult anyone in the process but what we have on TV is worst than Playboy TV. The way I see it is at least Playboy is honest about their business they are in the adult entertainment business. But when you turn to Arabic TV stations (Entertainment Shows) sex is hidden and covered. Being artistic is expressing yourself in different way that will impress people and not make them horny. Think of all great artists through out the years, Picasso’s art was very sexual because it was a reflection of his life and what he experienced. People loved his work because it was revolutionary, creative and dazzling. When you looked at his work it did not make you horny! Maybe I am making a very stupid analogy here! People just want to get a quick high in life and they don’t want to think that much. It’s just sad to see our Arab youth immersed in this filth, its nice for us to think sometimes and look at the big picture and be noble.
